This is the magazine cover that was censored by Barnes & Noble. It features androgonous MALE model Andrej Pejic. B&N felt that “he” would be confused as a “she” - so even though they feature other magazines with shirtless men on the cover they pulled it.
I guess the thought of heterosexual customers getting their dicks hard over a girl-boy was too much for them. However, Andrej felt it was a question of art vs. porn:
"I think the question really isn’t the gender of the person on the cover, it’s whether it’s porn or it’s art," he explained. "And clearly, it’s art, so art really should not be censored in a democratic society."
Gender roles…sex art…either way I don’t think it reflects well on the culture. This image is beautiful.”
